浙江时代电影院线股份有限公司前身系浙江时代电影大世界有限公司，依托母公司浙江省电影公司（现为东海电影集团）电影发行、放映业务板块，于2002年6月成立，系国有独资企业，以影院直营和加盟的方式，利用“时代院线”品牌，通过连锁经营向电影观众提供电影娱乐消费服务。
发扬始自1956年省电影公司的电影发行放映经营管理专业与创新，秉承缔造粤苏京浙等中国电影四强省份之一的浙江电影人拼搏创业精神，时代院线经过十余年发展在影院连锁经营方面取得了骄人成绩：院线票房自2002年的5000万一路迈升至2014年的12亿，旗下拥有影院183家，银幕1128幅，座位14209个，年观众人次近4000万。项目遍及浙江、安徽、江西、江苏、上海、四川、湖北、湖南、广东等省市。
