Hong Kong Baptist University, a statutory public university of Hong Kong with Christian education tradition, started in 1956. It offers bachelor's degree, associate's degree and higher diploma courses, as well as master's and doctor's degree courses of course and research. Hong Kong Baptist College is a private institution of higher learning founded by the Hong Kong Baptist Association in 1956, providing all-round education. By 1994, it was officially established as Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). To date, HKBU has eight faculties offering bachelor's, associate's and higher diploma courses, as well as master's and doctor's degree courses in the form of courses and research. HKBU attaches equal importance to teaching and research, and encourages faculty and students to serve the society.
