“先有大直沽,后有天津卫”,天津海河东岸,有一片古老的土地——大直沽,这个名字深深根植在天津人心中,与天津卫三件宝相得益彰的是,大直沽也有三宗宝——古庙、烧酒、台子高。说到烧酒,不得不提起这个记载着天津酒业发展的百年老字号——天津市直沽酿酒厂。

天津市直沽酿酒厂地处天津市河东区大直沽前街,据有关史料记载,是在距今一百多年历史的“义聚永”号等多家烧锅的基础上发展起来的。最初创办人是姚琴舫,他在年轻时给钱号走街,和当时的盐商富贾多有交际,由于他头脑灵活,潜心经营,积累了一些资金,聘请来做酒的师傅,后与刘鑫共同出资在大直沽开设了义聚永烧锅。义聚永是当时名望较大的烧锅之一,八国联军火烧大直沽后,约在1901年义聚永原址(今天津市河东区大直沽六号路南头海河边)被比利时帝国强圈为租界地,迫不得已将烧锅迁至大直沽前街(现今天津市直沽酿酒厂处)。

大直沽这个地方虽然不大,可是个出好酒的地方,经过许多年月,直到现在,已成为远近闻名的优质酒特产区了。1931年出版发行的《天津志略》称:“天津酒业尚称发达,大直沽一带,尤为最富之区”。旧时大直沽真可谓是遍地酒花香,满天醉味浓,离大直沽周围一二里远的地方,就可以闻到使人陶醉的芬芳气息,而不必“借问酒家何处有”了。

1920年以后,大直沽地区烧锅达几十家,当时义聚永经理刘香久(创始人之一刘鑫之子,又名刘桂森)是个头脑清新而有经营策略的人,为了竞争图存,他以扩充新品种,增产再制酒为创优创利的手段,以高粱烧酒为胚,另加辅料再制,酿制出玫瑰露、五加皮、状元红等新品种,形成了独特的产品系列,这三种酒问世后,在市场上一炮打响,不仅在市内常见于公馆宅门和各大饭庄的餐桌上,且远销到美国、加拿大以及英、法、德等国家。

After the fire of Dazhigu by the eight nation allied forces, the original site of yijuyong (the south head sea riverside of No. six road, Dazhigu, Hedong District, Tianjin today) was strongly circled as a concession by the Belgian empire in 1901, so it was forced to move the casserole to Dazhigu Front Street (now Tianjin Zhigu brewery). Although Dazhigu is not a big place, it is a good place to produce good wine. After many years, it has become a famous specialty area of high-quality wine. "Tianjin wine industry is still well-developed, especially in Dazhigu area," said Tianjin chronicle published in 1931. In the old days, Dazhigu was full of wine and flowers. It was drunk all over the sky. A mile or two away from Dazhigu, you could smell the intoxicating fragrance without "asking where the restaurant is". After 1920, there were dozens of cookers in Dazhigu area. Liu Xiangjiu, the manager of yijuyong (the son of Liu Xin, also known as Liu Guisen), was a man with fresh mind and business strategy. In order to survive in the competition, he took the expansion of new varieties, production and reproduction of wine as the means of creating excellence and profits, and took sorghum Shaojiu as the embryo, and added with auxiliary materials to produce rose dew, Wujiapi and Zhuangyuan Red and other new varieties have formed a unique product series. After these three kinds of wines came out, they made a great impact on the market. They are not only common in the city, but also sold to the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany and other countries.
