学院沿革

1954年 东北体育学院成立，由中央人民政府体育运动委员会和东北人民政府举办；校址确定在沈阳北陵原东北大学体育场旧址周围区域。

1955年 竞技指导科（原东北体训班）划出学院建制。

1956年 更名沈阳体育学院。

1958年 划转辽宁省政府领导，由辽宁省体育运动委员会主管。

1960年 设立体育系和运动系；不久运动系划出学院建制，但保留运动系（或沈阳体育学院分院）名义至1984年，成为辽宁省运动技术学院的前身。

1963年 由辽宁省高教局直接管理，省体委业务指导。同年省属沈阳市体育学校中专并入。

1966年 文化大革命开始，停止招生至1971年。

1969年 迁往辽宁省北镇县青堆子农场，次年陆续迁回沈阳原址。

1980年1月 隶属国家体育运动委员会；设立附属竞技体校。

2001年3月 实行国家体育总局与辽宁省人民政府共建、以省人民政府为主的管理体制；采用省体育局与教育厅共管，以省体育局为主的管理方式。

2004年9月 学院白清寨雪上运动中心建成，投入使用。

2006年12月 学院迁入新校区。
