汉江集团管理的丹江口水利枢纽是治理开发汉江的关键性工程，也是南水北调中线水源工程。丹江口水利枢纽工程由总长3442米的大坝、总装机105万千瓦的水电站、300吨级升船机、110千伏和220千伏开关站、陶岔渠首枢纽及清泉沟泵站等组成。丹江口水库总库容339亿立方米，正常蓄水位170米库容209.5亿立方米，是仅次于三峡水库的全国第二大水库。2014年12月12日，南水北调中线一期工程正式通水，丹江口水库平均每年可向北方供水95亿立方米。
