陕西中烟工业公司组建于2003年12月。2005年12月整合省内卷烟厂成立陕西卷烟总厂。2007年10月，陕西中烟工业公司与陕西卷烟总厂合并为一个法人实体。2009年10月，企业依法更名改制为陕西中烟工业有限责任公司，建立了董事会，完善了公司法人治理结构。

目前公司下辖宝鸡、延安、汉中、澄城、旬阳5个卷烟厂，资产总额160亿元，年卷烟生产能力200万箱以上。全系统在册职工8200余人，其中在岗5500余人。公司自有卷烟品牌有“好猫”、“延安”、“猴王”，其中“好猫”、“延安”为行业重要品牌。公司与湖南、广东、浙江、云南中烟建立并保持品牌合作生产关系。

2016年，坚持稳中求进工作总基调，贯彻落实新发展理念，以“双品牌双轮驱动”战略为牵引，聚焦技术研发和市场营销，唱响主旋律，打好主动仗，坚定不移推进“好猫”“延安”品牌共同发展。全年生产卷烟172.2万箱，销售卷烟168.72万箱。实现销售收入185.83亿元。实现税利123.75亿元，其中税金112.92亿元。
