发展简史

瑞蚨祥创始人是孟传珊(字鸿升),是孟子的后裔,济南府章丘县旧军镇人。他以经营土布开始,字号为瑞蚨祥。就到上海、青岛、天津等地设立连锁店,经营规模逐渐扩大,经营品种也日益增多,增加了绫罗绸缎、皮货等高档商品。

1876年当时年仅25岁的瑞蚨祥掌门人孟雒川把目光投向了京城最繁华的商业区——大栅栏,在清光绪初年,由孟觐侯在前门外鲜鱼口内抄手胡同租房设庄,批发大捻布。清光绪十九年(1893)以后,洋布大量涌入中国,孟觐侯向孟洛川建议,开设布店,孟洛川出资八万两银在大栅栏买到铺面房,成立北京瑞蚨祥绸布店。

到清末民国初年,瑞蚨祥已成为北京最大的绸布店。拥有五个字号,即东鸿记茶庄,瑞蚨祥总店(也称东号),鸿记皮货店,西鸿记茶庄,西鸿记绸布庙(也称西号),均位于大栅栏街内。

1900年,瑞蚨祥毁于义和团的洗劫,不久重建开业。恢愎以后的瑞蚨祥仍然以货品纯正、花色新颖著称。现瑞蚨祥仍自行设计花样,派专人选厂家“定产品”,并绣明“瑞蚨祥鸿记”字样。其优良的布匹、绸缎仍为海内外游客所称道。其开办的“传统服装服饰展”也是文商结合的典范。

解放后,天安门广场升起的第一面五星红旗的面料就是周恩来总理指定瑞蚨祥提供的。1954年,瑞蚨祥率先实行了公私合营,五个字号合并为一,改成以经营绸缎、呢绒、皮货为主的布店。北京瑞蚨祥绸布店基本保持了原来的建筑风貌,天井式的房屋结构,门面上的石雕、罩棚等仍保存完好。营业面积有一千多平方米。

瑞蚨祥在经营上坚持“至诚至上、货真价实、言不二价、童叟无欺”从不迎合降价风,随波逐流;店员热情待客,全面介绍,服务周到;注重店容卫生和职业着装,讲究语言文明,绝无不干不净的秽言出口,为顾客创造一个舒适温馨的购物环境。

1949年,历经沧桑的瑞蚨祥和大栅栏的许多老字号一样迎来,民主的曙光、北平的解放。开国大典徐徐升起的第一面五星红旗就是用瑞蚨祥提供的红绸布制作的;从此,老字号瑞蚨祥从国民党统治的“每况愈下”中获得了新生,1954年底,率先实现公私合营,近几十年来一直成为首都劳动人民和中外游人喜爱的国营绸布商店。

In 1900, ruiyanxiang was destroyed by the plunder of the boxers, and was rebuilt and opened soon. Ruixiang is still famous for its pure products and novel designs.
