广雅云吞的创始人郑秀莲也在原柳州市第二饮食公司的厨房部工作，由于郑秀莲的祖籍也是来自广州，两人相见后颇为投缘。两人在一起工作不到两年的时间，刘美英就辞退了工作全家移民到了马来西亚，在刘美英移民之前把云吞技术转给了郑秀莲。到了1983年3月份，郑秀莲利用刘家人教授云吞的技术下海。头一家门面在现在的人汽公司门口，由于当时的条件限制，所谓的门面就是在不足20平方米的空地上自己种下四根木柱，盖上毛草坯就算可以了。
