上海大学上海美术学院的前身是1959年成立的上海美术专科学校(本科),她传承了1912年刘海粟创办的“上海美专”的海派美术精神;1983年并入新组建的上海大学,定名为上海大学美术学院。2016年12月,正式挂牌为上海大学上海美术学院。

美院现有中国画、油画、版画、雕塑、美术学、视觉传达设计、环境设计、建筑学、城乡规划9个本科专业。中国画系、油画系、雕塑系、版画系、美术设计系、美术学系、建筑系、数码系8个教学系和公共艺术技术实验教学中心。“公共艺术技术实验教学中心”是上海地区较早的艺术类实验教学示范中心,设立陶瓷、玻璃、版画、数字艺术、综合材料、首饰、漆艺、织绣等工作室,承担美院的本科教学、研究生培养等工作。学院现有在编在岗专业教师151人,其中教授29人,副教授62人。

学院拥有三个一级学科博士学位授予点(美术学、设计学、艺术理论),一个博士后流动站(美术学),两个上海高校人文艺术创新工作室(美术创作中心、公共艺术创作中心),一个教育部特色专业、一个上海市学科(美术学),一个上海协同创新中心(上海公共艺术协同创新中心)。目前已形成了以本科教学为基础和主体、研究生教育为重心、辅以留学生培养、短期培训和交流等完备的人才培养体系和多层次的办学格局;现有学生近2000人,其中本科生1200余人,博士、硕士研究生580多人、留学生30余人。

"Public art technology experimental teaching center" is an earlier art experimental teaching demonstration center in Shanghai. It has set up studios for ceramics, glass, print, digital art, comprehensive materials, jewelry, lacquer art, weaving and embroidery, and undertakes the undergraduate teaching and postgraduate training of the Academy of fine arts. At present, the college has 151 on-the-job professional teachers, including 29 professors and 62 associate professors. The college has three first-class discipline doctoral degree awarding points (art, design and art theory), a postdoctoral mobile station (Art), two humanities and art innovation studios (art creation center and public art creation center) in Shanghai universities, one specialty of the Ministry of education, one discipline in Shanghai (Art), and one collaborative innovation center in Shanghai (Shanghai public) Art Collaborative Innovation Center). At present, it has formed a complete talent training system and multi-level school running pattern with undergraduate teaching as the basis and main body, graduate education as the focus, supplemented by overseas student training, short-term training and exchange, etc.; there are nearly 2000 students, including more than 1200 undergraduate students, more than 580 doctoral and postgraduate students, and more than 30 international students.
