中山大学传播与设计学院，成立于2003年。学院以“人文新媒体、融创传播学”为学科定位，形成了“以通识教育为基础，以创意教育为中心，以实践教学为重心”的办学特色，培养既具有科学及人文素养又具有应用能力的复合型人才。

学院在注重夯实学科根基的同时，倡导“实训、实践、实验”教学创新，建设了融合采编实验室、纪实摄影实验室、大数据传播实验室、交互媒体设计中心等实验室集群，和谷河传媒、谷河青年空间、公共传播工作室等实践平台，拥有省级实验示范教学中心。
