沧州银行的前身系沧州市商业银行，于1998年9月19日在13家城市信用社的基础上重组设立，2009年3月经国家银监会批准更名为“沧州银行”。现注册资本38.39亿元，其中市政府持股6.1亿股，占比16%，在岗干部员工2000余人，陆续设立廊坊、保定、唐山、邯郸、邢台、秦皇岛、衡水、石家庄8家域外分行，44家县域支行和30家市区支行，初步实现“扎根沧州、立足河北、辐射京津”的战略目标。

沧州银行成立之初的前五年，由于种种原因导致发展速度慢、经营规模小、营运质量差、历史包袱重、社会认知低。截止2003年3月31日，存款余额为10亿元，贷款余额为7.7亿元，不良贷款3亿元，占全部贷款的38%，累计亏损2731万元，表内应收息挂账857万元。

2003年4月1日，沧州市委调整了沧州银行领导班子，成立沧州银行党委，主持工作。此后，沧州银行坚持以科学发展观为指导，以“服务地方经济，服务中小企业，服务城乡居民”为己任，不断创新金融产品，提升服务水平，各项业务健康增长，综合实力日益增强。截至2016年11月底，总资产达到1043亿元，一举跨入总资产千亿元以上城商行序列；存款总量达到858亿元，当年增量180亿元，增长26%；贷款总量达到478亿元，当年增量117亿元，增长32%；当年实现拨备前利润15.42亿元，累计实现经营利润突破70亿元；当年上缴各项税金5.26亿元，累计上缴税金26亿元；不良贷款率、资本充足率等主要监管指标处于全省城商行水平。

经过十多年的发展，沧州银行已经成为一家服务优良、产品丰富、内控严密、效益良好的现代金融企业，逐渐形成了自身的经营特色和竞争优势。

As of March 31, 2003, the balance of deposits was 1 billion yuan, the balance of loans was 770 million yuan, the non-performing loans were 300 million yuan, accounting for 38% of the total loans, the accumulated loss was 27.31 million yuan, and the interest receivable on balance sheet was 8.57 million yuan. On April 1, 2003, Cangzhou municipal Party committee adjusted the leading group of Cangzhou bank, established the Party committee of Cangzhou bank, and presided over the work. Since then, Cangzhou bank has adhered to the guidance of the scientific development concept, taking "serving the local economy, serving the small and medium-sized enterprises, serving the urban and rural residents" as its own duty, constantly innovating financial products, improving service level, healthy growth of various businesses, and growing comprehensive strength.
