镜湖医院是澳门较大规模的民办慈善机构——镜湖医院慈善会属下一间不牟利综合医院。创立于1871年（清同治十年），草创时期是一所庙宇式传统中医院。百余年来贯彻服务社会宗旨，为众疗疾，坚持赠医施药。

1935年柯麟医生来镜湖担任义务西医，组织西医顾问团柯麟医生，向澳葡当局争取了澳门华人医生手术权。1946年镜湖实施院长制，柯医生担任首任院长，义务服务镜湖直至1984年。在董事会支持下锐意改革，为镜湖的发展打下坚实的基础。

In 1946, the president system was implemented in Jinghu. Dr. Ke was the first president of Jinghu, and he served Jinghu voluntarily until 1984. With the support of the board of directors, we are determined to reform and lay a solid foundation for the development of Jinghu. With the return of Macao to the motherland, great changes have taken place in Jinghu. The specialized medical technology has been greatly developed; the large-scale infrastructure of the necessary panorama of Jinghu hospital has greatly improved the medical environment; adhering to the policy of "patient-centered", the medical service is widely welcomed, and Jinghu hospital has become the main provider of medical services in this region. Jinghu has been developing continuously for more than 100 years. The important factors are rooted in the people, steady collective leadership and sound system. The charity committee leads the hospital through the Council and supervises the major affairs and finance of the hospital through the board of supervisors. A secretary general shall be set up to implement the resolution of the Charity Association and supervise the operation of the hospital as a whole.
