春秋时期,玉田为古燕地,后建城取名无终。据《玉田县志》(清康熙、乾隆、光绪版)载有“唐太宗东征聚兵击石声如鼓”的民间传说。公元644年,唐太宗御驾东征,遭遇高丽军队的顽强抵抗,加上北部地区寒潮比洛阳早得多,唐军衣被单薄,粮草短缺,决定暂时退兵,来年再战,在滦县附近遇到前来接应的太子李治,当唐军退至玉田县林南仓镇搭锅造饭时,太子李治敬献当地所产老酒,唐太宗酣饮兴起,击石如鼓,随军将士齐呼吉兆,奏请太宗起兵杀回马枪,果然势如破竹,凯旋而归。

北宋时期,玉田为辽国南疆。玉田县林南仓建有宋辽时代辽朝统治者的行宫,萧太后曾多次率领王公贵族行围射猎,据《金史》记载和后人考证,辽朝曾在林南仓一代建有行宫和御林,据推断,现在正在建设的玉田县后湖工业区的所在位置就曾经是辽朝统治者的行宫和御林,林南仓由此得名并沿用至今。辽金贵族、士兵、子民极善饮酒,1000年前玉田老酒就有了庞大的消费群体。

时至元代,玉田已为内地,社会较稳定,生产力得到了发展,民族间科技文化的交流,为丰年牌玉田老酒前身的诞生以及酿酒业的发展提供了必要的条件。

至明清,玉田已为畿辅要镇,社会十分稳定,人们的生息得到修养,生产力得到了长足发展。这为酿酒业的发展提供了必要的物质基础和社会条件。据志载:当时玉田境内烧锅已有数家。公元1903年9月29日即清光绪29年农历八月初九,林南仓义德泉大烧锅(丰年牌玉田老酒前身)收拢县内六家烧酒作坊,豁然扯起林南仓“丰年”大烧锅酒旗,近百辆畜力酒车卖遍关里关外。林南仓作为玉田老酒的主产地,带动了当地的经济发展,林南仓成了连接南北的交通要塞,成了吞吐南北货物的水陆码头,从那时就有“拉不败的平安城,填不满的林南仓”之说,其繁荣鼎盛持续了数百年。

1931年,日寇侵略东北、华北之后,我国的民族工业遭到了毁灭性的破坏,林南仓变成了日本鬼子的据点,昔日繁盛的酿酒业很快就萧条冷落下来,酿酒大烧锅受到了重创,生意很不景气。1947年土改时,冀东15军分区接管了林南仓大烧锅,改私营烧锅为国营酿酒厂,从此林南仓“丰年”大烧锅注入了生机。2001年,国营玉田酿酒厂改制,更名为玉田县鸿源酒业有限公司。

解放初期,丰年牌玉田老酒厂只有三个制酒班组,两口底灶烧锅,年产酒仅150吨,员工60余人,随着生产规模的不断扩大和质量的不断提高,丰年牌玉田老酒厂不断发展壮大,今天的鸿源酒业有限公司厂区占地3000平方米,年产商品酒能力2000余吨,产品一直畅销京、津、冀和东北地区。

Linnancang, as the main production area of Yutian old wine, has promoted the local economic development. Since then, there has been a saying that "an invincible peace city and a dissatisfied Linnancang". Its prosperity has lasted for hundreds of years.
